You can choose between 2 leg styles

This class can be taken right after the Introduction to Sewing Class, even if you haven't made any other pieces of clothing before. Everything is explained step by step so that even the most complex techniques can be easily understood and the entire project feels simple enough to motivate you to continue sewing on your own.

You can choose between 2 leg styles

This project is recommended if you already worked on some simple sewing projects before or you already took the Skirt/Shorts Class or the Kimono Class.

Culotte pants

You will learn

♥ how to understand and work with commercial patterns;

♥ how to plan and cut for maximum fabric use;

♥ how to sew complex bag pockets (like the ones you see on jeans);

♥ how to sew a waistline finishing flat on the front and gathered at the back;

♥ how to easily finish clothes’ bottom (also known as hem);

♥ troubleshooting & different tips and tricks for easy handling of the sewing machine;

♥ many other things you will understand in the process.

You will take home

♦ a pair of pants in one of the 2 styles, created with your chosen fabric (provided by us);

♦ a paper pattern made just for you;

♦ a PDF with sewing instructions to help you easily recreate the pants at home with different design variations;

♦ notions about fabric cutting, sewing, and manipulation that prepare you for more advanced projects;

♦ techniques that you can apply also on tops, skirts, jackets, and other types of clothing;

♦ a picture of you wearing your project (optional).

When & Where

The classes take place in our shared upcycling atelier on Friedrichstrasse 23A, 10969 (close to Checkpoint Charlie).

Each class consists of 7 hours + a 30-minute break.

Regular group classes consist of a maximum of 3 participants, to offer everyone individual learning time and a complete understanding of the sewing process.

Home sewing machines, sustainable fabrics, trims, a paper pattern, tools, plus sewing instructions for home are included. Lunch is not included.
