Simple Button Shirt Class

Duration: 7 h + 30 min break intensive class  ♦  Max. participants: 4 or 3  ♦  Sewing machine, tools, pattern & fabrics included  ♦  Cost: 175€

Sew a piece with complex construction elements such as cuffs, bindings and buttonhole stands, using a pattern customized for your own measurements – that you get to keep after the class! Sustainable fabrics, tools, home sewing machines and snack will be provided.

This project is recommended if you already worked on some sewing projects before or you already took one of our beginner clothes-making classes. The shirt can be unisex or adapted for men's or women's style.

You will learn

♥ how to understand and work with commercial patterns;

♥ how to plan and cut your fabric pieces for a well-fitting product;

♥ how to sew construction elements for a better fit;

♥ how to set in a collar;

♥ how to sew a buttonhole opening and buttons;

♥ how to easily finish clothes’ bottom;

♥ many other things you will understand in the process.

You will take home 

♦ a shirt in your style created with your chosen fabric (provided by us, or feel free to bring your own if you prefer);

♦ a paper pattern customized to your measurements;

♦ a PDF with sewing instructions to help you easily recreate the shirt at home with different design variations;

♦ notions about fabric cutting, sewing and manipulation that prepare you for more advanced projects;

♦ techniques that you can apply also on jackets;

♦ a professional picture with you wearing your project.

When & Where

The classes take place in our shared upcycling atelier on Friedrichstrasse 23A, 10969 (close to Checkpoint Charlie).

Each class consists of 1 session of 7 h + a 30 minutes break.

Regular group classes consist of a maximum of 4 or 3 participants per class, to offer everyone individual learning time and a complete understanding of the sewing process.

Home sewing machines, all the sustainable fabrics & trims needed, a paper pattern, all tools, and snacks plus sewing instructions for home are included.
