Open Upcycling Project Class
You feel that you have nothing to wear? Well, let us show you that you actually do!
Join us to learn how to transforming one of those pieces from your wardrobe that lost their charm into a new, exciting design! Bring your own idea and clothes - we will provide the paper sewing pattern, tools, home sewing machines and snacks.
This is an open class where you can come with your own upcycling idea, together with the needed old clothing to transform. Prior to participation, kindly email us more details about what you would like to create - some reference pictures or a rudimental drawing would help us to make an idea.
When experimenting with a new design, pattern tests and several adjustments might be needed. For this reason we kindly ask, if possible, to bring an extra piece of clothing for testing.
You will learn
♥ How to plan and prepare the upcycling process;
♥ The measurements, cutting and seam opening techniques you will need in all your sewing & upcycling projects;
♥ How to set up the sewing machine according to the fabrics used;
♥ Different sewing techniques that will allow you to bring your idea to life.
You will take home
♦ A new set of sewing & fabric manipulation techniques useful to upcycle at home;
♦ If the project requires a pattern, you will get a personalized pattern that you can take home;
♦ Your very own creation, that no one will be able to tell it was upcycled :).
When & Where
The class consists of 6 hours, completed in 2 sessions of 3 hours each.

The classes take place in our shared upcycling atelier on Friedrichstrasse 23A, 10969 (close to Checkpoint Charlie).

Maximum 3 participants per class, to offer everyone individual learning time and a complete understanding of the sewing process.
